Leading international intellectual property service provider and MedilinkWM member Marks & Clerk has boosted its Birmingham team with the appointment of a new Partner, Philip Cupitt. Philip joins Marks & Clerk from the London office of U.S. law firm Finnegan, and brings more than 15 years’ intellectual property experience to the Birmingham team.
Philip is a UK and European Patent Attorney and Patent Attorney Litigator with expertise in the telecommunications, medical device and software sectors. He is recognised by Intellectual Asset Management’s IAM Patent 1000 as a leading patent professional in the United Kingdom and at the European Patent Office.
Philip’s appointment comes at a time of growth for Marks & Clerk in the UK, which has in recent months been confirmed as the UK’s largest filer of trade marks and also patent cooperation treaty (PCT) patents, one of the primary routes for securing patent protection. The team was also recently recognised in a total of seven jurisdictions globally worldwide by Managing Intellectual Property, the leading directory of IP firms.
